Celebrating Our Writers Honoured with 2012 Tony Award Nominations

With the 2012 TONY AWARDS presentation taking place this Sunday 10th June, we thought it a good idea to honour and celebrate the many in our family of writers that have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to this year's Broadway season.

For BEST ORIGINAL SCORE (Music and Lyrics) Written for the Theatre:
• NEWSIES
o MUSIC: Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Disney's Aladdin, Disney's The Little Mermaid, A Christmas Carol)
o LYRICS: Jack Feldman (Copacabana)

• BONNIE & CLYDE

We're also thrilled that the exquisite revival of FOLLIES (now in Los Angeles) has been nominated for BEST REVIVAL OF A MUSICAL.

And we're super-excited that Freddie Gershon, MTI's CEO will receive a special TONY Honor for his work in creating the Broadway Junior program.

2012 TONY AWARDS CEREMONY - BROADCAST

Tony Award Productions in association with CABLEready, a leading independent distributor of television programming for media outlets worldwide, will distribute the American Theatre Wing's 66th Annual Tony Awards® telecast to theatre fans in four continents and over 45 countries around the globe.

Tony Awards will be made available by the following international broadcasters:

• AUSTRALIA - Foxtel Bio channel. Airs live at 10:00 a.m. local time on Monday, June 11.
• NEW ZEALAND - Sky Network - Arts Channel. Airs Monday, June 11 at 20:30; Tuesday June 12 at 04:30 and 12:30.
• LATIN AMERICA - Film & Arts - airs live on Sunday, June 10 at 21:00h (Arg, Bra, Chi) or 18:00h (Mex)
• JAPAN - NHK. Check local listings.
• THE PHILLIPINES - Velvet Channel. Airs live at 8:00 a.m. local time on Monday, June 11.
• ARMED FORCES TELEVISION - Available to the US Armed Forces stationed outside of the United States. Check listings.
