What's On / Industry News

There's only a few days to go until Broadway comes to Australia for the musical theatre event of the year!

See acclaimed Broadway stars Sutton Foster (Anything Goes, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Aaron Tveit (Grease Live, Les Misérables, Next To Normal) together with West End star Joanna Ampil (Miss Saigon),
Aussies Helen Dallimore (Blood Brothers, Legally Blonde, Wicked), David Harris (Miss Saigon, Legally Blonde) and Broadway legend Betty Buckley, making her Sydney debut.

DEFYING GRAVITY: the songs of Stephen Schwartz is the world premiere concert production that is set to become the most exciting musical theatre event of 2016.

Stephen Schwartz has won three Academy Awards, four Grammys and four Drama Desk Awards for his work on Broadway hits including Godspell, Pippin and Wicked as well as the Disney movies Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Enchanted.

This thrilling concert includes Stephen Schwartz classics such as Day by Day, Colors of the Wind, When You Believe, Popular, Corner of the Sky, Beautiful City, Meadowlark and, of course, Defying Gravity.

Don’t miss it!

On Saturday 13 February, Stephen will join award-winning author and journalist Leigh Sales live on stage at Sydney’s Theatre Royal for a fascinating conversation about his extraordinary career on Broadway and in Hollywood.

This event will also feature performances by Stephen Mahy, Elise McCann, Michael McCorry Rose and Christy Sullivan.

Note: The soloists who appear in this event do not appear in the Defying Gravity concerts (and vice versa).
