Britten Connections - a guide for performers and programmers

In short, Benjamin Britten was the twentieth century's consumate musician. His works for film, television, radio, theatre, children, the opera house, the ballet stage, the concert hall and the church chart some of the century's great troubles and preoccupations - from war to sexuality, from morality to religious faith, from loyalty to betrayal. It is the intention of this guide to familiarise and entice musicians with the other side of Britten, a composer of singular vision, brilliance and humanity, who found his voice as a young man, and spoke with it all his life.

Learn more about Britten by visiting our dedicated Britten 100 Microsite, which celebrates the centenary of Britten's birth.
